2tb drives detect as 1tb on restore

i am trying to restore an image of 1tb to a 2tb drive but any 2tb drive i use in any pc only shows as a 1tb and then gives and error saying drive to small ?

any help with this ? if it could see it as the 2tb it is then it would restore
