error 0x0001 unsuccessful server 11 report blank

i am getting an error 0x0001 error on my backup
the report is also blank so i get no idea on what it might be
strange thing is it looks like the image file is on the external drive and looks like it might have worked fine
in most cases is it fails then the .omg image file gets deleted
this was an upgrade from server v9 to v11 and worked before, i have removed the backup and reinstalled it and rebooted the server
i have also deleted the job and recreated it
any ideas ?
