My thanks for this little application: I appreciate it and the way individual functions are documented. I must ask you a question - roughly about the same time as I installed version 1.0.1342, WU (Windows Update) started failing daily with Error 0x8000ffff and one update with 0x80070643 (KB2538243). I had applied the recommended settings in ShutUp10. I reverted to 'factory settings', then upgraded to Version 1.0.1344 and re-applied 'factory settings', and today the same with Version 1.0.1345. Windows 10 for me is a test environment with little use. I had installed Windows 10 starting with a Windows 7 clean install, then upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. I am unsure where the WU catastrophic situation comes from. I contacted Microsoft Answer Desk and a level 1 technician failed to solve my problem in 1 hour. The level 2 technician never called me at the appointed time. Besides experimenting with ShutUp10, I had also installed the NVIDIA driver 355.82 direct (with GeForce Experience) rather than via WU - this might be the problem cause.
I ask simply if you have any similar experience of my symptoms, as any advice from you would be greatly appreciated. (Ein Antwort in Deutsch ist in Ordnung)

Re: Windows Update fails with Error 0x8000ffff
Dear Abauer,
thank you for your email. Thank you for your email. There are no such problems known after using O&O ShutUp10 so far.
If reverting to factory settings doesn't resolve this issue, we can assume that O&O ShutUp10 is not the cause of your problem.
Similar errors are, however, already discussed in the net at Microsoft. For more Information about this error please see:

Re: Windows Update fails with Error 0x8000ffff
Thanks, Martin, I'll report back once it's solved. Note: the "Fix Microsoft Update Issues" tool was already tried by the Microsoft level 1 technician - it's available for Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista and XP but not for 10. I also tried installing "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update" manually and got Error 1935 - the known cause could be left over faulty registry keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS ... however COMPONENTS doesn't even exist in Windows 10. There's no effective support for Windows 10 yet.
